SALUTE TO THE SINGLE WOMAN/MOTHER
I salute you, brave, strong and courageous single woman and mother! Woman in high heels, who takes out the trash, changes tires, smoke alarm batteries and pumps gas. Woman who is not afraid to go after spiders, rats, ants, birds, bugs and snakes - anything that comes against your children. If they ever invade your domain and threaten your children, they don’t live to tell the story!
I salute you strong women who are not afraid to make decisions. No handwringing or blank stares. You do what needs to be done. You step over obstacles and high walls like they are mere speed bumps. You confront life with a smile and a dogged determination. You smile, pray, move forward and win! You win because you are not waiting around for someone to rescue you.
You know that God’s got you, Jesus is with you and the Holy Spirit is in you. You have all that you need. You know where your help comes from. You are women who say, like David, “my help comes from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth”.
You take yourself out on a date and buy your own flowers. You do not “settle” just to be with a man. You do not want “a man” you are willing to wait for “the man” who shares your principles and values. You do not let the world force you into its mold. You know who you are, you are a daughter of the Most High God! You do not let the world or your circumstances redefine or devalue you. You know your personal value and you own it! You are not a bargain basement woman! You are complete in Christ. Jesus paid full price for you and you will not give yourself away at a discount! You are the woman who says, “I want it, but not like this!”
You wear many hats. You are the queen of multi tasking and juggle many roles. You shake your fist at the devil in the name of Jesus and declare - “Satan you cannot have my child!” The devil is scared of you! You come and keep coming. You never quit! Everything in you wants to run, but you DECIDE to make a stand. With tears coursing down your cheeks and mascara running, you CHOOSE to stand. You know that you cannot fall apart. You don’t have that luxury. Too many people are depending on you. Instead of running, you choose to stand on your knees because you stand tallest when you are on your knees.
I salute you! single woman/mother, beautiful woman, WHOLE woman, Confident Woman! I salute you. Your sacrifice is not in vain! You are an inspiration to your children and to the world. You model courage and live out your faith where it matters most - at home. You make our world better. Your children will rise up and call you blessed! You are a treasure and he that finds you finds a good thing and obtains God’s favor.
